Bogotá!
Depending on your schedule and time, we can advise the next activities to do in Bogota, for one, two and three days.
Areas to stay in
-Usaquen/Hacienda Santa Barbara
- Park 93/Zona Rosa
Transportation
- If you renting a car, download the App Waze, this is the most used GPS app in Colombia, it is the best way to keep you updated with the crazy traffic in Bogotá and can also be useful in other places.
Taxi
- Hailing a taxi in the daytime is perfectly ok in Bogotá, you'll come to find that the majority of Bogotános, have no qualms when it comes to hailing a taxi off of the street during the daytime. TAPPSI and EASYTAXI (These are apps available for apple and android) are good and reliable options as well, but grabbing a taxi off of the street is faster and easier in the day. Just know the address of the place that you are going to, and use the price sheet draped over the back of the front passenger seat, or make sure the driver looks at it when he quotes you your fare.
Day A
Morning
Monserrate: Is a mountain that dominates the city center of Bogotá, It rises to 3,152 metres above the sea level, where there is a church it can be accessed by aerial tramway, a funicular or by climbing, the preferred way of pilgrims.
Walking up is pretty hard, but it is really worth it when getting to the top. We did this. It takes about an hour, make sure to bring water.
Afternoon
Spa: You could try one of the beauty Spas in the city, good service and good start for your journey in Colombia.
We tend to visit Macho's Peluqueria, good service and good prices.
Dinner
We strongly advise to visit "Andres Carne de Res", there you can appreciate local food and a very local environment. Is advised to get there by taxi and enjoy the night.
Day B
Morning
Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá: is an underground Roman Catholic church built within the tunnels of a salt mine 200 meters underground in a Halitemountain near Bogotá. The Salt Cathedral is considered one of the most notable achievements of Colombian architecture. Also it has been denominated as "Jewel of Modern Architecture". The cathedral represents for the Colombian people a valuable cultural, environmental and religious patrimony.
Afternoon
Shopping: In the way back to Bogotá, you may visit the Shopping Mall Santa Fe, one of the biggest in Colombia, or for the bohemian ones, we advise to visit the flea market in Usaquen.
